1. Guard Passing
a. Get on top and stay on TOP
b. How to get better at Guard Passing: Learn the top 5-7 Passes, and practice/drill over and over, then do live from closed and Open Guard (Supine and Seated) trying to get your passes.
c. How to open the closed guard
d. What are the best passes: seated/bodylock or butterfly passing and Supine Guard: loose passing or headquarters passing
e. Once we pass we need to immediately get to a dominant position and begin to attack.
f. Our goal is to always have our opponent in a defensive cycle.
g. Dynamic Pins and Mount transitions
2. What are the top submissions
a. Armbar, Triangle - Guillotine, RNC
b. So the point is you should spend the majority of your time on these submissions
c. Compound lifts in a weight room, get you the most results, auxillaries give you a little extra. It’s the same concept
d. So with that in mind, which submissions can be done from all the pins, and guard
e. The triangle and armbar can be done from all of these positions. That is why we will focus on them for some time.
f. We will look at what the fundamental problems/escapes are of these submissions so we can really dial in our submissions, and gain the ability to hit them on higher belts.
g. Lets look at some submission chains and how they all flow together
3. If you are on Bottom: Fall in love with the Closed Guard
a. You can control their posture and impose your game on them
b. They can’t really submit you, all they can do is attempt at opening your guard
c. Learn you top 5: Kneeling Sweeps, Standing Sweeps, and Submissions
4. Open Guard
a. If they are on their knees we attack their upper body
b. If they are on their feet, we attack their legs
5. Escapes
a. If they pin with their legs we escape into leg attacks
b. If they pin with their arms, we escape into attacking their arms
