CSA is a Certified Campeao Jiu-Jitsu school. Coach Justin currently holds a Brown Belt in BJJ

Our Adult BJJ program is split into THREE different programs/classes:

  • Beginner BJJ is all inclusive and allows the opportunity for anyone to learn the BJJ. This class teaches the basic movements, and techniques at a slow to medium pace for beginners to learn.

All Levels is a class for anyone with a few to several months of experience. This will cover the Blue Belt Curriculum.

Advanced Class is competition-based class with lots of Passing, Guards, and Leg Locks, experienced students only.

Our Coaches are Passionate about their craft, you will gain knowledgeable mentors that will give you positive and constructive feedback with every technique so you can learn the principles and simple machines behind every movement. We love to teach and our Academy is a School for those wanting to learn entire systems in a rapid amount of time through structured classes, certified instructors, and supplemental materials to guide you.

“Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) has been proven time and again to be one of the greatest and most effective martial arts in the world. It’s is based around the premise that real fights end up on the ground and if you know how to escape, control, and submit your opponent on the ground you will have a huge advantage. The early UFCs proved Gracie Jiu-Jitsu as a superior martial art. Now the game has evolved and still almost all of the greatest fighters have black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

"Always assume that your opponent is going to be bigger, stronger and faster than you; so that you learn to rely on technique, timing and leverage rather than brute strength." - Helio Gracie

“Real Fights End up on the Ground, and any person wanting to call themself a capable martial artist needs to know how to fight on the ground.” ~ Rorion Gracie

Jiu-Jitsu is for the protection of the individual: the older man, the weak, the child, the lady, and the young woman; anyone who doesn’t have the physical attributes to defend themselves.” ~ Helio Gracie

All of the programs focus on techniques and strategies that are pressure tested against a fully resistant opponent to prove their applicability.

No student is required to Spar or Live Roll.

Only CAP (Combat Athlete Program) students will engage in competition style training (Sparring and Rolling)

BJJ Combat Athlete Program (CAP): Competition Team

The BJJ Combat Athlete Program (CAP) is available to those students who have completed the foundations program and been invited to the Intermediate and Advanced programs. Athletes who have previous BJJ or High School or College Wrestling experience from elsewhere should talk to one of the coaches.

Why is Jiu-Jitsu the Greatest Martial Art in the World?

Smaller can defeat larger: in the animal kingdom the biggest is almost always the best. Stronger, faster etc. But the Human Kingdom is a different bread. We can use strategy, tactics, techniques,  weapons, all sorts of factors come into play.  If you choose to learn these specialized skills, you too can defeat larger opponents.

The idea is to get within a safe range so your opponents strikes are less effective. Within the clinch and grappling range you can trip your opponent to the ground and use sticky pressure to hold them while they struggle. Eventually they will exhaust and you will not because of your skillset. Then they are at your mercy, and often you haven’t even harmed them at all. But you could.

Preservation and Longevity: The ability to merely hold your opponent down into exhaustion without harming them with strikes is amazing. The Jiu in Jiu-Jitsu stands for “gentle” as in the gentle art. When jiu-jitsu practitioners spar it is called rolling, in which they try to submit each other with joint locks or a choke hold, at this time the loser would “Tap” their opponent as a signal to tap out or that they would surely lose the fight by being choked unconscious or having a limb broken making them unable to continue.  Rather than getting punched in the head over and over for sparring the game is simply different, with the goal of submission, which provides for much more longevity. Look at the late Muhammed Ali to see the potential damage from Striking Arts. You preserve your opponent’s body as well as your own and therefore BJJ can be practiced for a life time.

Pressure Testing: one great factor about Jiu-Jitsu is it has time and again proven to be one of the best martial arts. Just look at the history of the UFC. Even against a fully resistant opponent these techniques work. Some martial arts claim their style is too deadly or street lethal and so can’t be used in the cage. Anyone that knows martial arts knows that a lot of masters have had their dojos stormed and their style exposed. Truly if one wants to be on the cutting edge we should look to the professional athletes, whom almost always, have Jiu-Jitsu. Jiu-Jitsu has fully resistant sparring in which the practitioners try to choke each other unconscious or break limbs, of course the tap saves us all but nonetheless, they are fighting, day in and day out. Testing the techniques like scientists in a lab, keeping what works for them and discarding what does not.

Intelligent and Prestigious Art: It can take anywhere from 10 to 20 years to get a black belt in BJJ. Any Black Belt in BJJ is truly a killer and a warrior.Jiu-Jitsu has a huge range of techniques as well. There aren’t many martial arts that can boast about 600 to 1000 techniques in their system, and that are legitimately effective. The journey of learning and pressure testing make any brown to black belt and beyond, a Real black belt, a Real Master.
