Basic Striking Curriculum


Lesson 1: Body

1.        1 Body: 1b – 2h – 3h – RK OR 1-1b-2

2.        2 Body: 1h – 2b – 3h – RK

3.        3 Body: 1h – 2h – 3b - RK

 

Lesson 2: Back’em Up Drill

1-1-2 -> 1-3-2 -> 3-1-2

1.        Movement: Forward OR Forth and Back

2.        Pull Cross

3.        8 (6-3-2) OR 6-3 – Knee OR 6-3 RK

4.        1-2(2 hands) then 1-1-2 forward – step back – 3-1-2 –  Reload 6-3 - Opponent Shells– lead hand reach pull hand down – sets up over hand – Liver – lead upper - RKlow

Lesson 3: Numbers 6-9

2-3-2 - 3-2-3- 6-3-2- 5-2-3

Lesson 4: 2:30

1-2 1-Overhand – 1-2 – 1 -4 -1 -2 -1- 6

1.        With Reloads – timing rhythm  OR with Speed (4 Hands)

2.        Add Defenses in between

 

Lesson 5: MMA Sequence

2 Hands (1-2) or (2-3) enters clinch –> 2 Knees – Push away to create space

1.        Kick on the exit or 2 hands on the exit

2.        1-2 – 1 -3 as a clinch – Right Knee Left Knee -> Drop Single or Double

3.        Follow on into Grappling: Front Headlock OR Go Behind

 

Lesson 6: Holland

1.        1-2-3 -3b-3h – RK

 

Lesson 7: Dutch

1.        3-RKlow – 2 Switch -High Kick – 2-3 – Low RK – 3-2 – Switch High Kick

2.        2 or 3 Hands all the way thru – Numbers or 6-9

 

Lesson 8: Livers

1.        Sauwer: 3 – Overhand – 3b – HRK

2.        1 Liver Low = 1 – 3b – RLK

3.        Swarm: 1-2b – 3h – Overhand – 3b - RLK

 

Lesson 9: Bas

1.        1-2-1-4 _> 6-3 – 3b – RK high

2.        1-4 -> 6-3 -> 3b – RK high

 

Lesson 10: Hemmers

1.        3-4-3   - 4b -3b   - 3-4-3

2.        3-4-3-4b – 3b – 4-3-4

 

Lesson 11: Dekkers

1.        1-2-Reload – 2-3 – Reload – 3-2 – level change – Liver – 4b – Reload – 6-3-2  – Switch Stance – inside Leg Kick – same side Head Kick

2.        Instead of Reloads do Roll Slip or Slip Slip

 

Lesson 12: 6 Sticks

1.        1-6-3-Rear Body Kick

2.        1-6-3b – RKlow

3.        Jab – Level Change – 6 – 3 – High Round Kick

 

Lesson 13:  Monkey Walk

1.        Light Cross – fake inside single leg/ lead hook stepping to the outside – Rear Uppercut – Cross – Liver – low Kick – (2 hands)

2.        Into Check Hook Cross

 

Lesson 14: 2 Count Cover Flow

1.        Jab Cross – cover – 2-3 – cover 3-2 – body cover 6-3 – body cover – 5-3 – 3-1-2

Add on

2.        Step cross into south paw 3-2 1-2

3.        Then practice from south paw – when you finish the first section of the combo. Instead of the step cross you do a step back uppercut then 3-2-1-2

 

Lesson 15: Roll Slip Flow

1.        1-2 – Roll – 2-3 Slip – 3-2 Pull – 2

2.        1-2 Roll – 2-3 Slip – 3-2 Roll – 2-3 Pull 2

 

Lesson 16: Slip Roll Flow Drill: Sequence

3.        3 – Slip – 3-2-3- Roll – 3-2-Slip – 2-3-2 Roll – 2-3-2

4.        Swing Back – Uppercut – 2-3 – 1-2

 

Lesson 17: Check Hook Cross:

1.        Jab – drop the jab as you fade off of their Overhand – then Hook Cross

 

Lesson 18: Alley Jab

1.        Slip to the outside underneath while counter Jabbing to the chest – head movement loads up the Overhand.

 

Lesson 19: Switch It

1.        Switch Stance – Cross – Lead Hook – Roll Out to Ortho – KO Punch

 

Lesson 20: Swing Back

1.        Stepping back while rear uppercut then 3-2)

2.        Numbers 6-9 then 2 hands then Swing Back to switch stance and back to 6-9

Lesson 21: Cross Dream

1.        Superman Cross – Step thru – 3-2

 

Lesson 22: Tyson Hop

 

Lesson 23: Dillashaw:

1.        1-2 – body cover – 6-3-2 – Roll – 2 – 3 -RK – backing up 3-1-2

2.        1-2 – body cover – 6-3-2 – Roll – 2 – 3 -RK – forward - 3-1-overhand

 

Lesson 24: 2-1 SERIES

1.        1-2 -1 ---1-2 – Double Jab --- 1-2—(1-2 all on back mitt) --- 1-2 –1B(1-1B – 2) Roll out ---1-2 --2B ( 1-2b-3) –-- 1-2 -2B – 1-2 on Rear mitt ---- 1-2 – 2B(1-2b-3) – 1B (all on back mitt 1- 1B – 2) rollout

 

Lesson 25: Jump Knee

2-3 Low Kick – Switch Body Kick set up your Jump Knee
